How AI Processes Thousands of Products per Hour

How AI Processes Thousands of Products per Hour

If you work with dropshipping or import large supplier price lists, you know how exhausting it is to process every product by hand. Descriptions, attributes, photos, SEO — it all takes hours of work. But there's a solution.

Problem 1: huge price lists can't be processed manually.
Suppliers send you Excel files with 500-5,000 products. At best, there's a name, SKU, price, and a photo link. At worst — barely any information at all.

What needs to be done for every product:

  • Write a unique description (350-600 words)
  • Add attributes (size, color, material, specs)
  • Optimize SEO (meta description, keywords)
  • Process photos (improve quality, add extra angles)
  • For clothing — generate a 5-10 second video

Doing this manually takes 10-15 minutes per product. For 1,000 products, that's 166 hours of work.

The solution: integrating the OpenAI API with your WooCommerce store

We built an integration for WooCommerce that automates this entire process through the OpenAI API

How automatic description generation works
When a new product is imported, the system:

  • Analyzes the incoming data — name, category, basic specs
  • Calls GPT-4 via API with a prompt we tailor to your niche
  • Generates a unique description with the right structure: an appealing title, a description of the product's benefits, technical specs, usage recommendations, SEO-optimized text.
  • Automatically fills in attributes: color, size, material, purpose, seasonality, technical parameters

Processing time per product: 5-15 seconds. The system fills in every field on the product card without your involvement.

Example of using the OpenAI API for description generation.

In the screenshot above, you can see the cost of using the OpenAI API for description generation. Over 3 months, 8,000+ products were added, costing $11. Of course, the cost depends on the GPT version — in this case, GPT 3.5 was used.

Example for clothing dropshipping

Input data from the supplier:
SKU: 0001-01
Name: Women's cotton T-shirt
Price: 350 UAH
Photo: link-to-image.jpg

What the system generates:

Name: Women's T-shirt made of natural cotton — a basic piece for a casual everyday look.

Description (excerpt): "This stylish women's T-shirt made of soft cotton is the perfect addition to your wardrobe. The natural fabric provides all-day comfort, lets skin breathe, and doesn't cause irritation…"

Attributes: material: 100% cotton, season: All-season, style: Casual, care: Machine wash 30°C

Working with product photos: from upscaling to generation

Improving the quality of existing photos

Suppliers often provide low-quality photos — 600×600 pixels, compressed, full of artifacts. That's a disaster for Google Merchant Center — your products drop in ranking.

Our solution:

  • Integration with DALL-E, Claid, Midjourney, DEEP API
  • Automatic upscaling to 2000×2000 pixels
  • Improving sharpness and detail
  • Removing noise and artifacts

Generating additional photos

If you only have one product photo, AI can generate additional angles:

  • Photo on a white background
  • Photo in an interior or on a model
  • Details and close-ups
  • Photos from different angles

Important for Google Merchant: products with 3-5 quality photos have significantly higher CTR and conversion.

Video content for clothing stores

Generating short videos (5-10 seconds)

Statistics show: products with video convert 80% better than those with plain photos.

We integrate:

  • RunwayML for generating video from photos
  • Synthesia for creating product presentations
  • Our own algorithms for animating static images

What you get:

  • 360° product rotation video
  • Product demonstration on a model
  • Animation of key features
  • Lifestyle video in an interior setting

Who this is critically important for

Dropshipping

If you work with 10+ suppliers and import thousands of products, you simply won't keep up without automation.

Real-life case:

  • Import: 2,000 products weekly
  • Without AI: 330 hours of manual work
  • With AI: 2 hours to set up the import

Large product ranges

Stores with 5,000+ products in their catalog can't maintain unique descriptions manually.

Seasonal products

When you need to quickly upload 500 new products before a season, time is critical.
